Praise Digitalization At Pertamina Hulu Rokan, Ahok: Exceeded What Was Expected
JAKARTA - President Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero) Basuki Tjahaja Purnamaalias Ahok again visited PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan to monitor the progress of the management of the Rokan Working Area (WK) after the transfer of management, especially in the field of digitalization.
Previously, WK Rokan was managed by PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia.
During the visit, Ahok said, in addition to having a strategic role in meeting national energy needs, WK Rokan, which is located in Riau, became a locomotive for developing the application of digitalization in other Pertamina Upstream Subholding work areas.
"The directives that we conveyed during our previous visit in December last year were successfully realized, even exceeding what was expected," he said in a statement to the media, Thursday, May 12.
Ahok hopes that the digitization program can generate new ideas to drive cost optimization through business decisions based on the power of data.
Meanwhile, President Director of Pertamina Hulu Rokan Jaffee A Suardin explained that the digitalization program really supports the massive and aggressive work plan of WK Rokan.
With the presence of a war room facility, for example, the management of Pertamina Hulu Rokan WK Rokan can monitor the operational performance in the field second by second, so that important decisions can be taken immediately if there are obstacles in the field.
This war room facility was established after the transfer of management from the previous operator.
In addition to the war room facilities, WK Rokan has developed artificial intelligence to improve work safety in the field and designed applications for managing integrated well development and drilling activities.
Pertamina's Upstream Subholding also gave the mandate to the Rokan WK to continue to assist the development of digitalization in other WKs.
After the success of the IODSC (Integrated Optimization & Decision Support Center) replication with the Software as a Service (SaaS) concept approach in Jambi Merang and Prabumulih late last year.
This year, eight other WKs will be developed within Pertamina's Upstream Subholding.
"The expansion of digitalization is a manifestation of Pertamina's efforts to optimize business processes with fit-for-purpose digital technology, strengthen business innovation and build collaboration to realize efficient operations," said Jaffee.
He added that the expansion of digitization was carried out using a SaaS concept approach where the IODSC of the Rokan WK acts as a hub or activity center in receiving and processing equipment performance data and production well data sent by other WKs.
This SaaS method is considered the most efficient and effective in terms of cost and time by optimizing existing facilities and digitizing success.
"Value creation from the digitalization program is expected to reduce the potential for loss of oil/LPO production and increase the reliability of production facilities as optimally as possible. Efficient operations will provide optimal contribution in achieving the target," explained Jaffee.
The collaboration between Pertamina's Upstream Subholding Working Areas is expected to strengthen the standardization and optimization of the application of digital technology to support the achievement of the vision of becoming a world-class oil and gas company.
