Oil Spill In Cipete Market, 40 Motorcycles Slipped
JAKARTA - As many as 40 motorbikes skidded due to a cooking oil spill on Jalan Raya Fatmawati, right in front of Cipete Market, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Thursday, May 12, at 14.20 WIB.
"There were about 40 motorbikes that slipped. They didn't fall but slipped," said an officer from the North Cipete PPSU, Thursday, May 12.
Sunaryo revealed that dozens of vehicles that skidded actually knew if there was an oil spill at the location. They slowed down, but kept slipping.
"They knew there was an oil spill, walked slowly but kept slipping," he said.
Sunaryo confirmed that there were no casualties in the incident. "No injuries," he said.
Meanwhile, South Jakarta Gulkalmat Sub-department officer, Usman, explained that the incident began when a vegetable oil carrier was moving uphill on Jalan Raya Fatmawati.
"When the road was uphill there were some oil conductors that spilled onto the road," he said.
With the report, his party immediately dispatched two firefighting units. This is done to flush the oil spill.
"The clock starts at 14.20 WIB and finishes (watering) at 16.30 WIB," he concluded.
