After Eid Holidays, It's Time To Monitor The Flow Of Urbanization
JAKARTA - The Mataram City Government, West Nusa Tenggara, will collect data on urbanization as a result of the Lebaran 1443 Hijri/2022 homecoming. The municipal government wants them to have certainty in population administration.
"So far, we have not received data from Mataram residents who have entered and left, including the potential for urbanization," said Mayor of Mataram, H Mohan Roliskana in Mataram, Thursday, May 12.
Mohan asked the lurah and sub-district head to collect data on the potential for urbanization by monitoring reporting in each neighborhood.
The mayor said Mataram City remains open to urbanization as long as they are equally responsible for security, order, and comfort in this city.
The reason is that as the capital city of West Nusa Tenggara Province (NTB) with various potentials and being a center for trade, services, and education, Mataram City is the target and opportunity for urbanites or immigrants.
"Whatever the motivation of the urbanites, we remain open," he said.

The mayor further assessed that some of the motivations of the urbanites include going to school, opening a business or earning a living. Some even come to work directly for their families or relatives who already have a business field in Mataram.
"Although their presence in this city is not a burden for us, we must still record them for various purposes," he said.
However, the mayor hopes that the results of data collection on urbanization in each sub-district that will be carried out will not increase significantly.
