Three People Prevented From Going Abroad Related To Alleged Corruption In Ambon
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating allegations of bribery in granting permits to build retail branches in Ambon in 2020. Three people suspected of being involved in the case were prevented from going abroad.
"KPK has asked the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights to ban travel abroad for several parties related to this case," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Affairs Ali Fikri told reporters in a written statement, Thursday, May 12.
Ali did not specify the identity of the three people. This prevention is done so that they do not flee abroad when called by investigators.
"This ban is needed so that when a statement is needed, these parties are in the country and present to fulfill the summons of the KPK investigators team," he said. Previously, the KPK investigated allegations of bribery in granting permits to build retail branches in Ambon in 2020. as a suspect has not been announced.
