Testimony Of The Child Victim Who Died In The Pulogadung Fire: When He Came Down From The 2nd Floor, His Father Was Surrounded By Fire And Trapped In The Bathroom
JAKARTA - The body of a middle-aged man with the initials JG (52), has been evacuated by officers from the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. The victim's body was put in a body bag after being evacuated from the bathroom of his home located at the Bulog Complex, Jalan Sambiloto Dalam, No. 23, Kayu Putih, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, Thursday, May 12.
By officers, JG's body was immediately taken to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) using an ambulance for the autopsy process.
Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaiman, said the victim died when he was trapped in a fire inside his house. The victim failed to save himself because he was surrounded by smoke and fire.
"At the time of the fire, the victim's child saw the victim upstairs trying to put out the fire. But when the fire grew, the victim came down and was trapped in the bathroom," Gatot told reporters, Thursday, May 12.
This fire scorched three two-story permanent house buildings. The house is located in the middle of a densely populated residential area.
"The victim's body has been taken to the RSCM morgue," he said.
