Steam Deck Update Will Show 1280x800 Virtual Resolution Scale When Connected To External Screen

JAKARTA - The Steam Deck update will now feature an interface that scales to a virtual resolution of 1280x800 when connected to an external display. In addition, Valve has also added Steam hardware survey functionality for the Steam Deck.

According to its update on Wednesday, May 11, Valve will fix several issues with new Steam inventory notifications popping up, an issue with users showing up as Favorites when they're no longer friends, as well as an issue with the wrong dialog layout when the keyboard is visible on the screen.

Next up is an update on the per-game performance profile. Players can now set game-specific performance settings. This feature is accessed in Quick Access Menu > Performance > Advanced View.

If the per-game setting is enabled, a profile for the currently running title will be created. Any edits will be saved and applied automatically when the game is launched. But don't worry, you can disable this back to system default settings at any time.

Then, there is an increase in performance when switching from offline to online mode, as well as improvements to the online friend display that keeps appearing if Steam has been disconnected or switched to offline mode.

In the keyboard section, Valve will add the Traditional Phonetic and Bulgarian Phonetic keyboard layouts. Steam Deck will also receive improvements to the interaction between CapsLock and Shift.

You can now perform rumble & haptic diversions that are removed from the Quick Access menu. This can be accessed on the Settings > Controller Settings page.

You can also move the Re-order Controllers button to the Other section of the Quick Access menu, add a "Stop Streaming" option to the Power menu when hosting a Remote Play session, and update your Recently Played games list to include streamed games.
