BNPT: Five Indonesian Citizens Of ISIS Financial Facilitators Have Been Sanctioned By The US Government
JAKARTA - The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) has named five Indonesian citizens (WNI) as foreign terrorists and have received sanctions from the United States (US) government for their role as ISIS financial facilitators.
"The US government has previously communicated this inclusion to the Indonesian government," said BNPT's Director of Prevention Brigadier General. R. Ahmad Nurwakhid through a written statement quoted by Antara, Wednesday, May 11.
The five Indonesian citizens are Dwi Dahlia Susanti, Rudi Heryadi, Ari Kardian, Muhammad Dandi Adhiguna, and Dini Ramadhani. The five are affiliated with the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) network.
"There are those who are still and have finished serving their detention period," he said.
The US government, he continued, wants to include these names on the UN Sanctions List on ISIL and Al Qaeda.
"Inclusion of this name is of course in accordance with the spirit contained in Law Number 9 of 2013 concerning Prevention and Eradication of Criminal Acts of Financing of Terrorism," said Brigadier General Nurwakhid.
The Indonesian government will strictly follow up in accordance with the existing authorities and powers based on Law no. 9/2013.
"BNPT continues to coordinate with related institutions through the Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTF) Task Force," said Nurwakhid.
BNPT has an FTF Countermeasures Task Force which is led directly by the Head of BNPT as determined by the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Kemenkopolhukam).
BNPT knows that the profiles of the five Indonesian citizens are indeed involved in the ISIS FTF. Some are still in prison and some are out.
According to Nurwakhid, Dwi Dahlia Susanti from Tasikmalaya is currently being monitored in Turkey. Meanwhile, Rudi Heryadi from Sawangan Depok was deported from Turkey on September 27, 2019.
Next, Ari Kardian from Tasikmalaya was arrested in 2016 and has finished serving his prison term. Muhammad Dandi Adhiguna from Cianjur, West Java, was a facilitator for sending militias to Syria, and Dini Ramadhani from Tegal is currently suspected of being in Turkey.
