West Sumatra Deputy Governor Invites Governor Anies To Solok And Tanah Datar, What's Up?
JAKARTA - The West Sumatra Provincial Government is exploring the possibility of cooperation in agriculture and culture with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. This collaboration is expected to encourage regional economic growth.
"West Sumatra has enormous agricultural potential because more than 50 percent of the people are engaged in that field. West Sumatra also has great potential for the cultural sector, so we are trying to work together to encourage the regional economy," said Deputy Governor of West Sumatra, Audy Joinaldy when contacted from Padang, Wednesday. "Pak Anies has scheduled a visit to West Sumatra around June 2022 to discuss this cooperation further and if possible immediately sign the MoU," Audy said as quoted by Antara.
Audy said that his party would invite the governor of DKI Jakarta to agricultural centers in West Sumatra such as Solok and Tanah Datar.
"At the same time, we introduce the tourism potential in West Sumatra, such as in Pariaman," he said.
Meanwhile, cooperation in the cultural sector can cure the longing of 10 percent of Minangkabau people who wander in Jakarta for their own values and culture.
"We hope that this will also strengthen relations between people at home and those in overseas. Because the potential for Minangkabau people overseas is also very large to be able to build their hometown," he said.
