Ridwan Kamil Proposes 3 Names Of Acting Regional Heads Of Bekasi, Tasikmalaya And Cimahi Regencies

BANDUNG - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil proposed three names to the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) to fill the vacant regional head positions due to his term of office ending soon this year.

The three officials will fill the positions of regional heads of Bekasi Regency, Tasikmalaya City, and Cimahi City.

"We have proposed acting regents/mayors in three areas that will expire this year, namely Bekasi Regency, Tasikmalaya City, and Cimahi City. We have not received the final decision from the Ministry of Home Affairs," said Ridwan Kamil as reported by Antara, Wednesday, May 11.

The term of office of the Bekasi Regent will end on May 22, 2022, the Mayor of Cimahi on October 22, 2022, and the Mayor of Tasikmalaya on November 14, 2022. According to Ridwan Kamil, there are always special criteria from the Ministry of Home Affairs in determining officials.

"There is always a criterion for a high-ranking pratama (service head) or director level in a ministry/institution. So the official does not always have to be from the echelons here (the West Java Provincial Government)," said Ridwan Kamil.

"Sukabumi Regency, for example, used to be the official at the time of the 2020 Pilkada that was proposed by us, but it was decided by the director from the Ministry of Home Affairs," added Ridwan Kamil.

Then, Kang Emil as Ridwan Kamil is familiarly called, suggested that the central government should involve the legislative role of each region because the officials who will take office must be involved in politics.

The key is just communicating, yesterday there was input from the DPRD because they felt they were not involved, I think it's good because later these officials will have to interact politically, so this is important," he said.

"I agree that there is input from the council so that it is more conducive," said Kang Emil.

In serving in an area, he said, an official will be given one year.

Kang Emil revealed that if for one year the performance was in accordance with the procedure, it would be continued for two to three years. If not, it will be evaluated.

"Yesterday it was clarified that the official was only for one year, the acting mayor/regent/governor for a maximum of one year after that will be evaluated, it can be continued or not. So it doesn't mean that it will be 'full time' for two to three years," he said.
