F-PKS: Stop Giving Space To LGBT In Indonesia, Let Alone Revealing It In A Public Place

JAKARTA - The chairman of the PKS faction in the DPR, Jazuli Juwaini, emphasized that there is no room for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) perpetrators and behaviors in Indonesia.

"Stop giving space for LGBT actors in our country, let alone until they are revealed in the public sphere, heard and seen by the wider community, especially the nation's young generation," Jazuli said in a statement in Jakarta, Wednesday, May 11.

He said this regarding the public polemic regarding the rejection of Deddy Corbuzier's podcast which was considered to provide campaign space for deviant sex offenders. Deddy later finally deleted the video podcast.

Jazuli regrets that public figures such as Deddy Corbuzier provide space for LGBT actors to freely express and explore deviant sex ideas for public consumption.

He considered that Deddy was known to have a large following or "follower", he should focus on helping the state educate the public with content that is in accordance with the values of Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution.

“Those who clearly violate Pancasila and the state constitution such as LGBT should not be given space. LGBT is clearly contrary to the identity and character of the nation as a country that is religious and has a noble culture of the Indonesian people," he said.

According to him, once society is permissive and gives space for deviant sex offenders, then they are free to speak publicly and even campaign for their behavior.

He said he was grateful that Deddy finally deleted the video showing the perpetrators of deviant sexual behavior and followed it up with an apology, clarification, and education on the dangers of LGBT.

"In the future, the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) must be more active in supervising and supervising deviant content on social media and digital platforms," he said.

Members of Commission I of the DPR RI assessed that the Ministry of Communication and Informatics had the authority to remove deviant content for the benefit of the wider community because there were many protests against such content.

According to him, this also emphasizes that the state is here to protect the nation's generation from deviant sexual behavior.
