Prabowo: President Jokowi Always Defends The Small People

JAKARTA - Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto has raised his voice about the polemic of the Work Creation Omnibus Law that occurs in the community. Prabowo said there was no bad intention from the government, especially President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) by passing the law.

The chairman of the Gerindra Party also said that Jokowi always prioritizes the small community in every policy he makes. This is evidenced by the passage of the Job Creation Law which is deemed necessary in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic as it is today.

"The leadership's intention, the president's intention, the government's intention is to immediately overcome this (pandemic, red) and to overcome this, all efforts and tips are sought to reduce obstacles that can slow down economic revival," Prabowo said in a video statement quoted on Tuesday. , October 13th.

The pandemic that resulted in a massive wave of layoffs (layoffs) was what ultimately made the government want to help its people in the best possible way. One of them is the Omnibus Law on Job Creation.

"The president always defends the little people," he said.

Prabowo considered the desire to be able to help the little people, which made President Jokowi often scold his subordinates for working mediocre.

"We admit that the president is also angry that some bureaucratic officials do not respond that this is an emergency. So they are working as if , so it could be that a lot of assistance is not fast enough," he said.

Prabowo asked all parties to refrain from carrying out demonstrations against the Job Creation Law. Because, in reflection of the demonstrators who stepped down during the October 8 action, it turns out that many do not understand and have not read the law.

In fact, in this law, Prabowo emphasized that there have been many laws that accommodate the wishes of the workers. Moreover, currently, Indonesia is faced with the COVID-19 pandemic condition so that a demonstration is not the right thing to do.

"This is COVID-19 again, try to be patient in overcoming it first. We fix it, we try. If later the law is not good, it doesn't carry out well, take it to the judicial review to bring it to the Court," he concluded.
