Army Chief Of Staff Appreciates The Close Cooperation With The Singapore Army
JAKARTA - Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Dudung Abdurachman appreciated the close cooperation with the Singapore Army.
The Army Chief of Staff said this while receiving an honorary visit from the Commander of the Singapore Army, Brigadier General David Neo, at Headquarters, Jakarta, Tuesday, May 10.
This honorary visit began with a row of honor and a military honoring ceremony to the Commander in Chief of the Singaporean Army.
"I express my highest appreciation to the Commander of the Singapore Army for the close cooperation between the Indonesian Army and the Singapore Army," Dudung said in a press release quoted by Antara.
The former Pangkostrad hopes that this cooperation can be maintained and improved in order to make a positive contribution to their respective countries to help solve various problems and maintain regional stability.
"The TNI AD also supports increased cooperation between the TNI AD and the Singaporean Army in order to increase the mastery of technology and military industry in order to realize national independence in the provision of defense equipment," he said.
The TNI AD, said Dudung, is aware of the importance of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in dealing with the dynamics of the development of a very complex and multidimensional strategic environment.
Including the threat of natural disasters, non-natural disasters such as COVID-19, as well as the threat of transnational crimes such as terrorism, radicalism, and other humanitarian problems.
Currently, the TNI AD continues to try to be present with other components of the nation to help the government and overcome people's difficulties, including through the TNI Manunggal Air activity program to overcome drought and the need for clean water, handling COVID-19, preventing radicalism, and others.
"For this reason, the Indonesian Army is also open if the Singapore Army wants to contribute to the success of the program," said the Army Chief of Staff.
Meanwhile, the Commander of the Singaporean Army, Brigadier General David Neo, welcomed the efforts to maintain and develop cooperation between the Indonesian and Singaporean armies in the future in the face of increasingly complex threats and disturbances.
"With the strong and close cooperation between the two armies, we can deal with all threats well so that both countries can ensure security, prosperity and development in their respective regions and regions," said David.
