3 Members Of The Motorcycle Gang Killing Mobile Traders In Sukabumi Arrested

SUKABUMI - The Sukabumi City Police's Criminal and Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) arrested three suspected killers of Egi Anugrah Putra (30) a traveling merchant in Sukabumi City, West Java.

"From the results of the investigation, the three suspects with the initials DS (25), AF (22), and ISB (25) are members of a motorcycle gang in Sukabumi City who often create trouble and unrest in the community because of their various actions. The alleged perpetrators of the murder are residents of Bantargadung District , Sukabumi Regency," said Sukabumi City Police Chief AKBP SY Zainal Abidin as reported by Antara, Tuesday, May 10.

According to information gathered from the police, the murder case began when the victim, who was riding a motorcycle with his partner, wanted to take money from an ATM around the Puri Cibereum Housing Area, Cibeureum District, Sukabumi City.

Coincidentally, on the way the victim ran into the three suspects. After withdrawing money from the ATM machine, Egi again ran into the perpetrators who rode their motorbikes in a zig-zag way, allegedly deliberately looking for trouble with residents.

The victim spontaneously shouted "watch out for motorcycle gangs" to warn other road users. The scream was heard by the suspect, then chased Egi.

The chase action ensued. However, unfortunately, while at a railroad crossing to be precise in Ciandam, Cibeureum District, the victim was chased and stabbed in the head, hands, and armpits.

After being satisfied with persecuting the victim with their sharp weapons, the three left Egi laughing in the middle of the road with severe conditions in several parts of his body.

Residents who saw the incident immediately helped him, then they took the victim to the hospital. However, it was a shame that this traveling merchant breathed his last.

"We who received the report then carried out developments and asked for information from a number of witnesses. Finally managed to arrest the three perpetrators of the murder. This arrest was based on the Police Report Number LP/B/82/IV/2022/JABAR/Polres Sukabumi Kota/Sek Cibereum on December April 28, 2022," he said.

Zainal emphasized that his party would not provide waivers or policies to motorcycle gangs who had made residents restless. This is evidenced by the application of layered articles to the three murder suspects.

The three were charged with Article 170 paragraph (2) 3 and Article 338 of the Criminal Code, Article 2 paragraph (1) of the Emergency Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 12 of 1951 and Article 351 paragraph (3).
