The West Kalimantan Workers Alliance Demonstrated To Reject The Job Creation Law At The DPRD Building

JAKARTA - Massa who are members of the West Kalimantan Workers' Alliance held a demonstration against the passing of the Omnibus Law on Work Creation in front of the West Kalimantan DPRD Building, Jalan Ahmad Yani Pontianak, Tuesday, October 13.

As reported by Antara, the Chairman of KSBSI West Kalimantan, Suherman, in conveying his aspirations, said that his party rejected the Job Creation Bill being passed into a law because it was considered not pro-labor or the people.

"We also urge the President of the Republic of Indonesia to issue a Perpu (government regulation in lieu of law) on the cancellation of the Omnibus Law on Cipta Kerja," he said.

In addition, workers in West Kalimantan also urged members of the West Kalimantan DPRD to sign a statement rejecting the Omnibus Law Bill being passed into the Job Creation Law.

"We also support the Workers' Union or Labor Union, our leadership at the central level, to conduct a judicial review of the Job Creation Law against the 1945 Constitution at the Constitutional Court," he said.

On that occasion, Suherman also asked and continued to appeal to the demo participants to remain orderly in conveying their aspirations, and not to be easily provoked so that unwanted things did not occur.

Currently, representatives of the West Kalimantan Labor Union are in dialogue with members of the West Kalimantan DPRD, to convey their aspirations, namely refusing to pass the Omnibus Law on Employment Creation.

From observations in the field, hundreds of police personnel from the West Kalimantan Regional Police are on guard in the West Kalimantan DPRD Building area, and are supported by various tactical vehicles, such as water cannons and others.
