Indonesian Running Legend, Eduardus Nabunome Dies

JAKARTA - The world of sports in the country is again in grief. Former long-distance runner Eduardus Nabunome passed away, Monday, 12 October 2020 at 9:20 p.m.

Eduardus has been treated at the Gatot Subroto Medistra Hospital since Saturday because he has heart disease.

Originally, the man who is familiarly called Edo would sell the ring, but it was delayed because his lungs had thawed.

The news of the death of the SEA Games gold medal hat-trick scorer of the 10,000 meter run number was first received by the media crew via the WhatsApp application message.

"I am Usy, the son of Mr. Eduard Nabunome. My father is in the eternal house of God, thank you for every help. I apologize for all your mistakes. Thank you for uncle and aunt," read the message.

Edu is survived by his wife, Marcelina Ina N Piran and six children.

Edo's other achievements include the 1987 SEA Games gold medal in the men's 5000 meter run and 1989 and marathon running at the 1997 SEA Games.

Currently, Eduardus Nabunome's body is buried in the funeral home, Jalan SMA 48, RT 007/01, Gang H Kuntet, Kelurahan Pinang Ranti, Kampung Makassar, East Jakarta.
