Bobby Nasution's Eid Holiday Is Busy Managing Flood Management, Medan DPRD Member Highlights Stunting
MEDAN - Chairman of Commission II DPRD Medan City, Sudari highlighted the stunting rate in Medan City is still high and reaches 400 people.
Sudari then highlighted the handling of stunting carried out by the Medan City Government which she considered was not optimal.
"So far, we assess that stunting is not optimal. Therefore, we will immediately reschedule the Hearing Meeting (RDP) with the related OPD," said Sudari, Monday, May 9.
The PAN politician explained that of the 400 people, 19 loci were dominant in the North Medan area. To be precise, Sicanang Village, Medan Belawan District.
"We ask the Medan City Government to provide direction and counseling to people who are about to get married (pre-wedding). Furthermore, the Health Office and the Food Security Service must pay attention to nutritional intake for mothers and prospective babies until they give birth later," he said.
In addition, he said, the Department of Housing and Settlements (Perkim) must also be involved in fixing the slum environment. This is because poor sanitation conditions are also the main cause of stunting.
"Stunting is a concern of the central government. This matter must really be paid attention to by the city government, we don't want there to be children who don't get enough nutrition," he said.
Based on the information he received, said Sudari, the use of the budget for stunting had not been channeled properly. Therefore, he will also question the Medan Health Office's Quarter I program for dealing with stunting.
"We also found a mother with her 3-year-old child. Where her child's weight is currently 7 kg, it should be 11 kg if he is healthy. For that, in the RDP, we will question the distribution of assistance to the community in dealing with stunting," he explained. .
Meanwhile, the Sub-Coordinator of Family Health and Nutrition at the Medan Health Office, Dr. Sherivia Faradilla, said that currently the number of stunting prevalence in the city of Medan reached 0.47 percent in February 2022.
"Every year we weigh 2 times, namely in August and February. Yesterday (February), we weighed about 550 children. For 2022, the Medan City Government has determined 63 stunting handling loci. Currently the highest stunting is in Sicanang Village with around 50 people," he said.
His party together with the related OPD also continue to provide counseling in the handling of stunting, both pre-marriage to pregnant women and childbirth.
"This stunting is not only the Health Office, Bappeda, Ketapang and P2KB are also involved. Currently, the team leader, Mr. Deputy Mayor Aulia Rachman. In the future, we will also intensify the handling of stunting," he said.
Bobby's Focus on Handling Medan Floods
During the Lebaran holiday, Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution chose to visit three locations in the city of Medan, which are often hit by floods, Saturday, May 7. This review was carried out to follow up on the complaints of residents who had been uncomfortable with the flooding that occurred.
There were also three locations that Bobby Nasution reviewed, namely Jalan Asia, Jalan Sei Kera and Jalan Letda Sudjono. In addition to drainage, Bobby Nasution, who was accompanied by the Head of Public Works (PU) of Medan, Topan OP Ginting, also checked the condition of the culverts in the three areas.
From the results of the review conducted, it is known what has been the cause of the flooding so far. As in Jalan Asia, the trigger for flooding is due to high sedimentation. Related to that, said Bobby Nasution, dismantling and excavation will be carried out to carry out further deepening so that the drainage can again accommodate the water discharge.
"In addition, the closure of the water flow on Jalan Emas will also be opened so that the water flow can flow smoothly," Bobby Nasution said in the review, quoted from a written statement by Public Relations of the Medan City Government.
Not only that, continued Bobby Nasution, the Jalan Emas ditch will also be dredged because it has experienced siltation. "Well, if it is possible to widen it, we will do it later," said the husband of the head of the Medan City PKK TP Kahiyang Ayu.
Meanwhile, responding to floods that often hit the area in front of the Banda Selamat toll road, President Joko Widodo's son-in-law plans to install a water pump to channel water into the drainage so that it can flow perfectly.
"Hopefully it can give optimal results," he hoped.
