JAKARTA - The President Director of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya (Persero) 2008-2018 Hendrisman Rahim was sentenced to life in prison for being proven to have committed corruption that caused losses to state finances worth Rp. 16.807 trillion.
"On trial, declared the defendant Hendrisman Rahim legally and convincingly guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption together as the primary indictment. Sentencing the defendant to life imprisonment," said head of the panel of judges Susanti Arwi Wibawani at the Corruption Court in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Monday, October 12 evening.
The verdict was higher than the demands of the General Prosecutor (JPU), who asked Hendrisman to be sentenced to 20 years in prison and a fine of Rp1 billion, a subsidiary of 6 months in prison.
There are a number of burdensome and mitigating things in Hendrisman's actions.

The verdict is based on the primary indictment of article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with article 18 of Law no. 31 of 1999 as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.
"The defendant is not someone carelessly in making decisions and is not a new person who is involved in insurance and the capital market and has an amazing ' track record '. This indicates that the defendant is a superior human resource who deserves to be appreciated to save Jiwasraya insurance from a downturn, but the defendant is trapped in personal interests and not justified on the grounds that it is fair if the three of them are sentenced to the same sentence, "said the judge.
According to the judge, Hendrisman together with Jiwasraya Finance Director for the period January 2013-2018 Hary Prasetyo, Head of Jiwasraya Investment and Finance Division 2008-2014 Syahmirwan, President Director of PT Hanson International Tbk Benny Tjokrosaputro, President Commissioner of PT Trada Alam Minera Tbk Heru Hidayat and Director PT Maxima Integra Joko Hartomo Tirto committed various actions that resulted in state losses of up to Rp. 16.807 trillion in the management of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya's funds.
These actions are, first, Hendrisman Rahim, Hary Prasetyo and Syahmirwan made an agreement with Heru Hidayat, Benny Tjokrosaputro and Joko Hartono Tirto in managing the investment in shares and mutual funds of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya (AJS) which is not transparent and not accountable.
Second, the management of stocks and mutual funds is carried out without analysis based on objective and professional data in the Head Office Internal Note (NIKP) but the analysis is only made a joint formality.
Third, Hendrisman, Hary and Syahmirwan also bought shares of BJBR, PPRO and SMBR that have exceeded the provisions stipulated in the investment guidelines, namely a maximum of 2.5 percent of the outstanding shares.
Fourth, Hendrisman, Hary and Syahmirwan carried out a purchase and / or sale transaction of BJBR, PPRO, SMBR and SMRU shares with the aim of intervening in prices which ultimately did not provide investment returns and could not meet liquidity needs to support operational activities.
Fifth, Hendrisman, Hary and Syahmirwan controlled 13 investment managers by establishing a special mutual fund product for PT AJS so that Joko Hartono Tirto could control the management of financial instruments that are the "underlying" mutual funds of PT AJS.
Sixth, Henderisman, Hary and Syahmirwan continue to agree on the purchase / sale of 21 mutual fund products managed by the 13 mutual fund managers who are affiliated with Heru Hidayat and Benny Tjokrosaputro, although in the end they did not provide investment returns and were unable to meet liquidity needs to support activities. company operations.
Seventh, Hendrisman Rahim, Hary Prasetyo and Syahmirwan have received money, shares and facilities from Heru Hidayat, Benny Tjokrosatpuro through Joko Hartono Tirto in connection with the stock investment management cooperation and mutual funds of PT. AJS Year 2008 to 2018.
So that in managing stock investment and mutual funds, PT. AJS for the 2008-2018 period has caused losses to the state Cq PT. AJS, namely the management of shares of BJBR, PPRO and SMBR of IDR 4.6 trillion and 21 mutual funds IDR 12.157 trillion, so that the total state loss is IDR 16.807 trillion.
Furthermore, Hendrisman also received benefits in the form of:
1. Cash amounting to IDR875,810,680 and PCAR shares of 1,013,000 shares worth IDR4,590 / share on January 24, 2019 worth IDR4,649,670,000 so that the total value reaches IDR5,525,480,680;
