Lily Wahid, Gus Dur's Sister, Cak Imin's Supporter, Became Chairman Of The PKB And Initiator Of The Century Bank Scandal Questionnaire Rights
JAKARTA - Grief surrounds the family of Indonesia's 4th President Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur. Lily Chodijah Wahid, Gus Dur's younger sister, has died due to heart disease.
The woman who was born in Jombang on March 4, 1948, breathed her last at the Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital (RSCM) Jakarta today, Monday 9 May 2022, at 16.28 WIB.
During her life Lily was known to be active in politics. He was known to the public for the first time when he served as Deputy Chairman of the Syuro Council of the National Awakening Party (PKB).
Lily's position at PKB was not because of Gus Dur. However, Lily got the result of supporting her sister's rival who held the PKB Extraordinary Congress in early 2008.
The congress was held by Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin and Lukman Edy in Ancol Jakarta with the result that they became General Chairperson and Secretary General of PKB, respectively.
Sitting on the Deputy Chair of the PKB DPP Syuro Council, Lily's political career is getting brighter. He successfully won votes in the East Java II electoral district when he ran as a member of the DPR in the 2009 General Election.
Walking at the Senayan Parliament Complex, Lily was placed in Commission I of the DPR in charge of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information, the State Intelligence Agency, the Ministry of Defense and the TNI.
As a representative of the people, Lily is critical of facing problems both within her commission and outside of it, including those related to legal cases.
During the Century Bank case, which was the second biggest financial scandal after the Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance case, Lily was noted to have formed Team Nine with eight members of the DPR across parties.
The team drafted the proposed use of the DPR's inquiry right to thoroughly investigate the disbursement of Rp 6.7 trillion in the Century Bank Scandal. The scandal is known to have cost the state more than IDR 7 trillion.
Lily was also noted to be against the increase in fuel oil (BBM) in early 2012. Even though her attitude was against the party, Lily was adamant.
As a result of her critical actions, Lily had to receive punishment from the party. PKB officially dismissed Lily as a cadre and member of the PDR in March 2013.
Not wanting to leave the world of national politics, Lily chose to join the Hanura Party and remain active in politics.
Not long ago, Lily also commented on the tweet of former Democrat politician Ferdinand Hutahean which was conveyed by Gus Dur's statement about divinity.
Lily said that as a convert to Islam, Ferdinand's knowledge of Islam is still shallow, so the issue regarding the tweet does not need to be extended.
However, Lily thought that Ferdinand had misinterpreted Gus Dur's statement about God being Strong, so that he did not need to be defended with violence.
"It is certain that God is strong and impossible (weak, ed). If you look at God's statement, there is no need to defend Gus Dur's statement as a person who understands Sufism. ," said Lily to VOI, Friday, January 7th.
As for Ferdinand's tweet via his personal Twitter account @FerdinandHaean3 as follows, "It's a pity that your God is weak, you have to be defended. If I were, my God is extraordinary, omnipotent, HE is my defender always and my God doesn't need to be defended," wrote Ferdinand.
