JAKARTA - Today, Monday, May 9, the K-pop industry was shocked with the contracts of two groups reaching the end. The two groups are OH MY GIRL from the WM Entertainment agency and MONSTA X from Starship.
On the same day, WM Entertainment gave a statement that Jiho did not continue the contract as a member of OH MY GIRL and the agency. Different from the other six members: Hyojung, Mimi, YooA, Seunghee, Yoo Bin, and Arin.
"We respect Jiho's decision to pursue his dream after discussing it with the members and the agency. And we would like to inform him that his exclusive contract with us has ended," said WM Entertainment.
"We want to thank Jiho who has been with us for seven years and we will support Jiho in the future," the agency said.
Separately, Jiho wrote a statement that he will continue to support OH MY GIRL's work even though he is not a member. "I will support OH MY GIRL as Miracle (as the group's fans are called)."
On the other hand, Starship Entertainment also released a statement regarding MONSTA X's contract status. They revealed that three members: Shownu, Kihyun, and Hyungwon had resumed contracts.
