After The Back And Forth Flow, Passengers Complain About The Still Expensive Bus Ticket Prices

JAKARTA - A number of passengers who will depart from Kalideres Terminal, West Jakarta, complained about the high price of bus tickets to a number of areas in the country.

“Bus ticket prices are still high. I got an economy bus ticket to Lampung at a price of Rp. 200,000, even though the most expensive is usually only Rp. 150,000,” said a passenger, Dede, when met at Kalideres Terminal, Jakarta, Monday, May 8.

Dede and his husband and two children chose to return to Lampung after Lebaran was over, in the hope that bus ticket prices had decreased. In addition, going home after Lebaran is not as crowded as before Lebaran.

"Yesterday, I also took a bus from Wonosobo to Kalideres Terminal and the ticket price was still high at Rp. 300,000," he said. Not only Dede, Hidayat also complained about the high price of bus tickets, who planned to go home to Purbalingga. Hidayat, who came from Palembang, had to spend Rp. 500,000 per person for a bus ticket to Jakarta.

"Even though we deliberately went home after Lebaran was over, so we could get normal ticket prices," he explained.

A bus agent at Kalideres Terminal, Hendri, admitted that the price of bus tickets at the transportation company where he worked had increased during the Lebaran season. If normally it's only IDR 450,000 for West Sumatra, it will increase to IDR 600,000 for one way.

"But this is only until D+7 Lebaran, after that it returns to normal prices again," said Hendri.
