Uber Team Is Required To Win Against Germany In The Second Match Of Group A
JAKARTA – The Indonesian badminton team for the 2022 Uber Cup will face Germany in the second match of the second qualifying Group A. The Red and White squad is also required to win in that match.
Indonesia against Germany will take place at the Impact Arena, Bangkok, Thailand, on Tuesday, May 10 tomorrow. Previously, Nita Violina Marwah and her friends had won 5-0 over France in the first match.
Team manager Hendro Santoso said that the victory over France was definitely something to be grateful for. However, don't let that result make the Uber team complacent when facing Germany later
"You have to be more alert and ready to work hard again against Germany," said Hendro in an official statement received by VOI.
Just like France, Germany also received a bad result in the inaugural Group A match against Japan. They came home with a 0-5 defeat
Hendro considered that despite losing in the first match, on paper, Germany's strength was much better than France.
"That's why I ask the players to be more prepared and give all their best. The German opponent is arguably the decisive party for the Indonesian Uber team to qualify for the next round. So, I ask the players to go all out," said Hendro.
In the previous edition of the Uber Cup in 2021, Indonesia and Germany were also in the same group. At that time, the Garuda squad succeeded in bending Germany with a landslide score of 4-1.
When they defeated France, Indonesia fielded the formation of Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi, Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi, Aisyah Sativa Fatetani, Nita Violina Marwah/Lanny Tria Mayasari, and Bilqis Prasista.
These names may undergo several changes when they meet Germany later. The coaching team will select the best squad after the results of training on Monday, May 9 this afternoon.
The Indonesian badminton team for the Uber Cup has no scheduled matches today. For this reason, they use this opportunity to focus on preparing themselves.
