This Year, The Quota For Hajj For The Riau Archipelago Is 704 People

KEPRI - The government has set a quota for Riau Archipelago Hajj candidates (Kepri) who left for the Holy Land of Mecca in 1443 Hijri as many as 704.

"It has been determined by the government today for all regencies/cities in the Riau Archipelago," said the Acting Head of Hajj and Umrah Organization for the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of the Riau Archipelago, Edi Batara, Monday 9 May.

Of the 704 people, Batam City received a regular quota of 302 and a reserve of 52 hajj candidates. Tanjungpinang City has a regular quota of 99 people and a reserve of 19 pilgrims.

Tanjungbalai Karimun Regency gets a regular quota of 66 and a reserve of 24 hajj candidates. Natuna Regency has a regular quota of 49 people and a reserve of 16 hajj candidates.

Lingga Regency gets a regular quota of 19 people and a reserve of two Hajj candidates. Bintan Regency gets a regular quota of 34 people and a reserve of five Hajj candidates. Anambas Regency gets 17 regular quotas and 0 reserves.

Edi explained that although the Riau Islands hajj quota has been set, his party is still making sure confirmation from prospective pilgrims until May 20.

"We are still waiting for confirmation from each prospective hajj pilgrim, whether later they will cancel their participation or what," he said, as reported by Antara.

Not only that, although the national Hajj flight schedule has been set for June 4, 2022, the Batam Embarkation has not yet been determined.

"We are still waiting for the flight schedule. We also don't know if we will get the first or second wave," said Edi.

To note, there are four provinces that participated in the embarkation of Batam, namely the provinces of Riau Islands, Riau, Jambi and West Kalimantan.

Later there will be two provinces that will stay at the Batam Hajj Dormitory, such as Riau Islands Province and West Kalimantan Province. "Meanwhile, the two provinces of Riau and Jambi only waited a moment to transit at Hang Nadim," said Edi.
