The Service For Back And Forth For Eid 2022 85 Million People Is Not Yet At Its Maximum, Minister Of Transportation Budi Karya: We Are Sorry
JAKARTA - This year's Lebaran homecoming event is different from two years ago, because the public's interest is very high. Based on the survey, as many as 85.5 million people want to go home. Of course, this very large community movement is a challenge for stakeholders, including the Ministry of Transportation, the Police and the transportation operator.
Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi admitted that at this year's Lebaran homecoming event, his party had not provided maximum service. This is because of the massive movement of the people.
"Therefore, we apologize for not being able to meet the expectations of all parties. We will evaluate so that homecoming activities and also activities where there will be massive movements in the future can be anticipated better," he said in a written statement received, Monday, May 9th.
Even so, Budi said the government had tried to make the implementation of this homecoming run smoothly. Among them by conducting a number of surveys, simulations, discussions, have been carried out systematically so as to produce recommendations that are executed by those in charge in the field.
"The most massive are the Police colleagues on the land route, and then at the crossing, air, rail and sea," he said.
Budi also said that the Ministry of Transportation is fully committed to carrying out President Joko Widodo's mandate, so that the implementation of this homecoming runs safely and healthily, and provides happiness and joy to the community.
Therefore, Budi expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the collaboration and good communication that has been carried out between Ministries/Agencies, the National Police, operators of transportation facilities and infrastructure and other related elements. This includes the mass media for their support in helping to communicate and disseminate all homecoming policies to the public, so that they can be known, understood and implemented.
"We also thank the travelers who have followed various advice from the government," he said.
Furthermore, Budi also expressed his appreciation to Ministries/Agencies, Regional Governments, SOEs, and private parties who have provided a free homecoming program, in an effort to reduce the number of motorbike travelers and reduce the number of accidents.
In addition, Budi hopes that this year's homecoming activity will be the beginning of an economic revival and also a sign of the start of the endemic period.
"We always emphasize that health protocols are carried out properly, so it is hoped that there will be no increase in cases after the homecoming period," he said.
