There Are No Reports Of Children With Acute Hepatitis, South Tangerang Health Office Reminds Citizens To Stay Alert

JAKARTA - The Health Office (Dinkes) of South Tangerang City (Tangsel) confirmed that as of Saturday, May 7, yesterday, it had not received any reports of children infected with acute hepatitis.

"No one has reported acute hepatitis in children in South Tangerang City," said Head of the South Tangerang Health Office, Allin Hendalin Mahdaniar in a written statement, Sunday, May 8.

Nevertheless, Allin reminded his citizens to remain vigilant. But calm in responding to the news that developed.

"We urge the public to be careful and remain calm. Prevent acute hepatitis in children by diligently washing hands with soap," he said.

"Then make sure the food is cooked and clean, don't share eating utensils with other people, avoid contact with sick people, keep the house and environment clean and continue to implement the Health protocol," he continued.

On this occasion, Allin said that if a child has symptoms of hepatitis, they should immediately go to a health care facility.

The symptoms of hepatitis in question are jaundice, abdominal pain, sudden vomiting and diarrhea, old tea colored urine, pale bowel movements, seizures, decreased consciousness.

"(Therefore) the government also asks all health workers and health care facilities to implement infection prevention and control, especially for viral infections and if they find a case, immediately report it to the South Tangerang Health Office," he concluded.
