South Sumatra Today Has The Potential For Heavy Rain
PALEMBANG - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) of South Sumatra Province predicts that the local area will experience moderate to heavy rain on Saturday, May 7.
The BMKG release was received by ANTARA in Palembang, reported by Antara, Saturday, May 7 in the morning, cloudy skies with the potential for moderate rain in the Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) and Muara Enim areas, while the potential for light rain in the Ogan Ilir area, Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir (PALI), and Lahat.
In the afternoon until the afternoon, the weather is forecasted to be cloudy with the potential for thunderstorms in the OKI, Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU), South OKU, Muara Enim, Lahat, Empat Lawang, Banyuasin, and Palembang areas.
Areas with the potential for light rain in East OKU, Prabumulih, Pagaralam, Lubuklinggau, Musi Rawas and Musi Banyuasin during the afternoon to evening.
At night, the weather is forecasted to be cloudy with the potential for thunderstorms in the OKU, Muara Enim, PALI, Lahat, Lubuklinggau, Musi Rawas and Musi Banyuasin areas, while the potential for light rain in the Prabumulih, Empat Lawang, North Musi Rawas, Banyuasin and Palembang areas.
In the early hours of the morning, the weather is forecast to be cloudy, with the potential for light rain in the Musi Rawas and North Musi Rawas areas.
The air temperature in the lowland areas of South Sumatra around Palembang, Banyuasin, Musi Banyuasin, Ogan Ilir and OKI ranges from 24-33 degrees Celsius, humidity is 60-96 percent. Lahat and South OKU range from 19-32 degrees Celsius, humidity 65-100 percent.
Wind from southeast to southwest at a speed of 5-25 km/hour.
The height of the sea waves in the Gelasa Strait, in the northern part of the Bangka Strait and the southern part of the Bangka Strait is 0.1-0.5 meters. The weather is forecasted with light rain, wind direction from southeast-southwest with a speed of 4-35 km/hour.
Based on the weather forecast, the South Sumatra BMKG issued a weather early warning to be aware of the potential for rain with moderate to heavy intensity which can be accompanied by lightning/lightning and strong winds of short duration from morning to evening.
The areas include OKI, OKU, South OKU, Muara Enim, Lahat, Empat Lawang, Banyuasin, and Palembang, while at night until early morning in the OKU, Muara Enim, PALI, Lahat, Lubuklinggau, Musi Rawas, and Musi Banyuasin areas.
