"The total number of tourists as of Friday, May 6 was 176,982 people. This means that this achievement exceeded our target of 154,403 people. Then, the achievement of local revenue from the tourism sector has reached Rp. 1.3 billion from the target of Rp. 1.2 billion," said Aldian reported by Antara.
He said beach tourist destinations are still the prima donna. Tourists who visit this tourist attraction come from several areas who take the time during homecoming as well as travel in Gunung Kidul.
"The peak of tourist arrivals occurred on Thursday, May 5 and Friday, there has been a decline in the number of tourists because there has been an increase in backflow for the Eid holiday. This is already expected to happen on Friday until the end of the Lebaran holiday," he said.
Aldian did not deny the effect of the large number of tourists in Gunung Kidul making the density of traffic flow also increase, but thanks to cooperation with various parties including the Gunung Kidul Resort Police, the Transportation Service, Satpol PP, Kodim 0730 and Senkom, congestion can be resolved.
