Crowded, There Are One Million People Visiting Tourist Attractions In Garut During Eid Holidays
GARUT - Garut Deputy Regent Helmi Budiman stated that based on the results of the report, the number of visits to a number of tourist attractions in Garut Regency, West Java during the Idul Fitri holiday reached more than one million people, a spike that was beyond the predictions of the local government.
"Based on reports from a number of tourist attractions, both managed by the government and the private sector, this year more than 1 million visitors have entered tourist attractions in Garut," Helmi said after reviewing the Darajat tourist attraction in Garut. May 6th.
He said the momentum of the Eid 1443 Hijri holiday made the tourist attraction in Garut crowded with visitors from various regions, including local Garut tourists.
The figure of one million visitors, he said, was the result of the calculations and reports of each tourism manager such as in Cipanas Garut, Situ Bagendit, Darajat, beach tourism and other tourist attractions.
"The three Eid holidays are indeed very large compared to last year's pandemic, more now, if during the pandemic there are very few visitors to Garut," he said.
He conveyed that the local government previously predicted that there would be a surge in the flow of homecoming vehicles by as much as 400 thousand vehicles, but the results exceeded the predicted figure.
"Unexpectedly, we predicted that in the early days the vehicles would pass through the Garut Regency of 400,000 vehicles, and with tourist visits, it seems like more than that," he said.
The high level of visits certainly provides benefits for Garut because it boosts economic growth.
But on the other hand, he said, it actually causes a lot of garbage scattered in tourist attractions, such as what happened at the Situ Bagendit tourist attraction, Banyuresmi District so that it interferes with the comfort and beauty of tourism.
"In the future, there are several things that must be considered which of course must be considered by all, including the manager, namely the waste problem," he said.
One of the leading tourist destinations in Cipanas Garut is the Sabda Alam Water Park, which during the Lebaran holiday season is quite crowded by visitors from various ages and regions.
General Manager of Sabda Alam Garut, Wenny Agustiany, said that the government's policy to relax community activities had a positive impact on tourism businesses, namely an increase in visits.
Percentage of tourist visits to the Sabda Alam Water Park rose by 50 or even 100 percent compared to the previous year's Lebaran holiday season.
"This year's Lebaran period is extraordinary, after the easing with level 1 this is a breath of fresh air for us tourism players," he said.
