LIMAPULUH KOTA - The Limapuluh Kota Resort Police (Polres), West Sumatra (West Sumatra) recorded more than five thousand vehicles leaving the local province for Riau until this evening.

"Today, there has been a surge in backflow for Lebaran, from morning to evening there are more than five thousand vehicles coming from West Sumatra to Riau," said Traffic Head of the Limapuluh Kota Police, AKP Dian Jumes Putra, in Sarilamak, as reported by Antara, Friday, May 6.

He detailed more than five thousand vehicles, three thousand more were four-wheeled vehicles, while the rest were two-wheeled vehicles.

With the increasing volume of vehicles, his party continues to try to regulate and unravel the buildup of traffic flow so that there is no total congestion.

Jumes said that the traffic density in Limapuluh Kota, which is a connecting route with Riau, has occurred since Friday morning.

Current density has occurred starting from the Tanjung Pati, Sarilamak, Kelok Sembilan flyovers, to the border area between West Sumatra and Riau.

The police said that the increased mobility of the vehicle had become a concentration for the return flow of Eid 1443 Hijri.

Considering the route that is crowded with vehicles is the route from Sarilamak to Riau or vehicles leaving the province of West Sumatra, while the flow to West Sumatra is fairly smooth.

The police also said there were no incidents of accidents that occurred throughout Friday in the local area.

"Alhamdulillah, there were no traffic accidents, we still urge travelers who want to return to overseas to prioritize safety when driving," he said.

He said to ensure that there would be no total congestion in the local area, the police had dispatched 117 personnel to manage traffic.

"Personnel are stationed to regulate traffic flow at intersections and tourist attraction exits, as well as ensure that no vehicles cross the right lane against the flow," he said.

On the other hand, for the security of Eid 1443 H, there are four posts that were established with details of two service posts (posyan) and two security posts (pospam) consisting of joint officers.

Police predict the density of the backflow from Sarilamak or the West Sumatra-Riau road will last until Friday night.
