Wahyu Setiawan's Resignation Letter From The KPU Commissioner Sent By His Family
JAKARTA - The General Election Commission (KPU) received the resignation letter of the KPU commissioner on behalf of Wahyu Setiawan. The letter was sent by Wahyu's family to the KPU office on Jalan Imam Bonjol, Menteng, Central Jakarta.
Wahyu wrote the letter with a stamp of Rp. 6,000. In his resignation letter, Wahyu stated, with full self-awareness without coercion resigning as a member of the KPU for the 2017-2022 term.
"Pak Wahyu Setiawan has submitted a letter of resignation as a member of the KPU that was delivered by his family," said KPK Chairman Arief Budiman during a press conference at the Indonesian KPU Office, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Friday, January 10.
Arief said the KPU would send Wahyu Setiawan's resignation letter to President Joko Widodo. The next process is to wait for the Presidential Decree (SK) regarding the dismissal in question.
"Then, a copy of the letter will be submitted to the DPR and DKPP," continued Arief.
Arief added, I Dewa Kade Wiarsa Raka Sandi will replace Wahyu as a member of the Indonesian KPU. This is because Kade is number eight in the voting results stage for candidates for the 2017 KPU members.
Wahyu Setiawan was caught in a hand-arrest operation (OTT) by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Wednesday, January 8. On January 9, the KPK officially named Wahyu as a suspect in accepting bribes. Wahyu was proven to have asked for Rp900 million in cash.
