Passenger Backflow At Soekarno-Hatta Airport Starts To Increase On D+2 Lebaran
JAKARTA - The movement of return passengers for Eid 1443 Hijri or Lebaran 2022 at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta) began to increase on Thursday (5/5).
"It's starting to get crowded, but it's still running smoothly and under control," said the Coordinator of the Idul Fitri Command Post at Terminal 1 Soetta Gusnar Yoga, who was met by Antara in Cengkareng, Thursday.
Gusnar said that as of Thursday, at 13.00 WIB, PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) recorded a total of 436 flights. It is predicted that aircraft movements from Thursday afternoon to evening will increase, dominated by domestic flight arrivals.
"The prediction of flight movements for the period from 16.00-18.59 is 174 flights, dominated by arrival flights," he said.
In detail, it is predicted that there will be 21 arrival flights on Thursday at 16.00-18.59 WIB at Terminal 1A, 21 arrival flights at Terminal 2D, 24 arrival flights at Terminal 2E and 29 arrival flights at Domestic Terminal 3 and 6 arrival flights at International Terminal 3.
The number of arrival flights is higher than departure flights at the same time, with details of 12 departure flights at Terminal 1A, 9 departure flights at Terminal 2D, 18 departure flights at Terminal 2E, 18 departure flights at Domestic Terminal 3. However, there are 7 departure flights at Terminal 3 International.
Based on Antara's observations at Terminal 3, the movement of arriving passengers is not too high, especially in the morning. However, towards the afternoon and evening, the movement of passengers in the arrivals area began to increase.
Likewise at Terminals 1 and 2 of Soetta Airport. Although it only serves two airlines, namely Lion Air and Batik Air, Terminal 2 of Soetta Airport is the most crowded area for arriving and departing passengers.
Meanwhile in Terminal 1 the flow of passenger flight arrivals began to be seen in the late afternoon.
Terminal 1 operations have been temporarily suspended during the pandemic. However, as the number of passengers at Soetta Airport began to increase, especially during Eid in 2022, Terminal 1 was re-operated even though it was only Terminal 1A.
Meanwhile, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 are already filled with passengers during Eid.
