Viral Case Of Attempted Robbery Of Women In Puri Kembangan, West Jakarta, Turns Out Just A Misunderstanding Has Ended Peacefully

JAKARTA - After arresting MS (45), a male motorbike driver who went viral on social media, the Kembangan Police finally took mediation between the perpetrator and the car driver with the initials SR (50).

"We (Development Police) are implementing the West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Ady Wibowo's program, namely restorative justice," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kembangan Police AKP Reno Apri when confirmed, Thursday, May 5.

After the police managed to secure the perpetrator MS, then the MS was met with SR.

After the meeting, there was an agreement between the victim of SR as the reporter and the perpetrator of MS not to proceed with the case to the legal realm.

"Both of them have agreed to make peace and don't mind the problem," said AKP Reno.

Furthermore, SR, said AKP Reno, has also made a statement that he will not continue the case.

"Not suing the reported party (the perpetrator of MS) both criminal and civil and the reported party has made a statement that it will not repeat his actions," he said.

In order to prevent the incident from happening again to other communities, AKP Reno appealed to Kembangan residents to be wiser in playing social media.

"If there is information that is not certain the truth, immediately report it to the nearest police station," he said.

Previously, it was reported that a video recording of an attempted robbery of a female car driver went viral on social media Instagram. According to the narration in the video circulating on social media, the perpetrator was in the mode of intercepting the victim's car.

The incident occurred in the Puri Kembangan area, West Jakarta on Wednesday, May 4, yesterday.

The Head of the Kembangan Police, Kompol Binsar Sianturi, said that his party had arrested the perpetrator who went viral on social media.

"Not a robbery case. Once again I emphasize, this is not a robbery case only

It's just a misunderstanding between motorcyclists and cars," said Kompol Binsar when confirmed, Thursday, May 5.

Furthermore, Kompol Binsar explained, the incident occurred in the CNI area of Puri Kembangan, West Jakarta, Monday, May 2.
