Crowded Vehicles Creeping, Cianjur Police Close The Path To The Peak Of The Gentur Lights Monument
CIANJUR - Cianjur Police, West Java, closed the route to Puncak starting from the Gentur Lamp Monument-By Pass, Cianjur, as an effort to break the chain of queues that continue to lengthen on the main Cianjur-Puncak route. That way, vehicles destined for Bogor are directed to alternative routes.
Head of the Cianjur Police Traffic Unit, AKP Sujana Awin Uma, said that his party could not confirm how long the closure would take because the queue in the Puncak-Cianjur area was still long so only local motorists were allowed to pass through the alternative route of Gombong.
"As of tonight, the tails of the queue have not melted on the main Cianjur-Puncak route, so to cut the queues of vehicles with a stalled speed, we have closed the route to Puncak starting from Cianjur. While the one-way system has not been able to dilute the queue," he said as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, May 4th.
The closure of the flow to Cipanas-Puncak will be re-opened after the queues melt in the Puncak to Bogor area, in order to anticipate total traffic jams on D+2 Lebaran so that motorists heading to Bogor are directed to the Jonggol and Sukabumi alternative routes.
Meanwhile, the traffic density with stagnating speed, he added, was also seen on the main Cianjur-Bandung route, so that efforts to block and engineer the flow were carried out to avoid total traffic jams from both directions due to the high traffic flow from both directions.
Drivers heading for Bogor said they were stuck for 4 hours on the main Cianjur route, starting from Jalan Raya Cugenang, the vehicle only moved a few meters and stopped again for tens of minutes.
"Usually from Cianjur to Cugenang it only takes a matter of minutes, but now we have been trapped for 4 hours without moving. We don't know until what time we go home in Bogor after staying in touch with our extended family in Cianjur," said the driver from Bogor, Kholis.
