Central Jakarta Police Deploy 125 Personnel To Safeguard Tourists On Eid Holidays In Ancol
JAKARTA - North Jakarta (Jakut) Metro Police escorted the surge in visitors to the Ancol tourist area during the Idul Fitri 1443 Hijriah holiday by alerting 125 personnel.
"The task of these personnel is to carry out regulatory activities, traffic control, then security, both open and closed, this is done to anticipate traffic disturbances and kamtibmas," said North Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Wibowo as reported by Antara, Wednesday, May 4.
North Jakarta Metro Police data shows that as many as 63,000 people visited the Ancol tourist area on D+1 Lebaran on Wednesday.
"At the Ancol tourist location, up to now, the number of visitors has reached 63,000 people," he said
Wibowo revealed that Ancol experienced an 11 percent increase in the number of visitors compared to the number of visitors the day before.
Visitors who come with four-wheeled vehicles experienced an increase of 19 percent with the number of four-wheeled vehicles around 9,000 vehicles.
Meanwhile, two-wheeled vehicles increased 0.1 percent with the number of two-wheeled vehicles today around 4,000 vehicles.
"We predict this situation will continue to increase because the holiday period is still quite long, until May 8," he said.
The North Jakarta Metro Police also established a booster vaccination booth in the Ancol tourist area so that people can get vaccines while enjoying their holidays.
Wibowo also appealed to the public to apply health protocols at all times.
"We urge you to always carry out safety for both personal and other road users. Moreover, at this time we are still in the COVID-19 pandemic, continue to apply health protocols, keep distance, wear masks and wash hands," he said.
