Parasite Film Will Be Adapted Into An HBO Series
JAKARTA - Various successes have been achieved by the film 'Parasite' by director Bong Joon Ho. After receiving the Palm D'Or from Cannes, this film also won the Golden Globes for the Best Motion Picture-Foreign Language category.
Now the film that is included in the BAFTA 2020 nominations, has made another achievement. The family film 'Parasite' will be remake into a television series.
The HBO television channel will host the broadcast of the series. 'Parasite' will collaborate with original director Bong Joon Ho and 'Vice' director Adam McKay to return to working on this film from the country of Ginseng. It is not yet known whether the television series will be dubbed in English or with subtitles.
Prior to the announcement of this series, 'Parasite' was rumored to be making an American remake. However, CJ Entertainment as the production house refused to respond to these rumors. According to them, maybe this rumor happened because of the popularity that 'Parasite' achieved so much.
'Parasite' tells the story of Kim and Park's family life with different class strata. The Kim family, who only worked as pizza box folders, tried to take control of the Park family's fortune. The Kim family journey becomes a plot twist adventure that changes the Kim family plans.

The television series is planned by Kate Street Picture Company, CJ Entertainment, and McKay's Hyperobject Industries. 'Parasite' became Bong Joon Ho's seventh film after releasing 'Okja' in 2017.
