Minister Of Manpower Invites Stakeholders To Strengthen Solidity Commemorating May Day
JAKARTA - The Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah invites all stakeholders to strengthen solidity on the commemoration of International Labor Day/May Day 2022.
On the commemoration of International Labor Day 2022, the Ministry of Manpower campaigned for the theme "Ketupat May Day".
This theme invites trade unions/labor unions (SP/SB) and entrepreneurs to make May Day 2022 a momentum to build synergy together to achieve 'victory' by prioritizing friendship in order to achieve Industrial Peace.
"May Day 2022 this time is different from previous years, because we also take the theme 'Ketupat MAY DAY', the spirit of friendship to build Industrial Peace relations, the spirit that we want to continue to do, the spirit of togetherness to build harmonious industrial relations," said Ida in a written statement quoted by Antara, Monday, May 2.
Ida said that although the current pandemic condition and the national employment situation continue to improve as the government continues to strive for economic recovery, the community continues to face challenges in terms of economic recovery.
One of them is the challenge of promoting the stability of the national economic recovery in the context of highly dynamic global socio-economic-political conditions.
Seeing that the economic condition is still in recovery and not yet fully stable, the government continues to pursue programs aimed at easing the burden on the business world and affected workers.
Therefore, as a form of the Government's concern for workers/labor, in 2022 the government will again roll out the Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU) program for workers/labourers affected by COVID-19.
This year, the government has allocated a budget of Rp. 8.8 trillion with a recipient coverage of 8.8 million workers/labor. The BSU program is designed for workers/laborers with salaries below Rp. 3.5 million. The BSU that will be given to workers/labourers is Rp. 500,000 per month for two months, which is paid at once in the amount of Rp. 1 million.
"Currently, the Ministry of Manpower is preparing policy instruments for implementing the 2022 BSU and will ensure that the BSU program can be run quickly, precisely, accurately and accountably," he said.
This year, the Job Loss Guarantee Program (JKP) can be claimed by workers/laborers who have experienced termination of employment (PHK) with benefits in the form of cash, job market information and job training.
"We have implemented JKP since February 2022, and friends who have experienced layoffs and become BPJS Employment participants, meet the requirements for JKP benefits and are laid off, they can already get the JKP Program benefits," said Ida.
As of mid-April 2022, 845 workers who have been laid off have benefited from the JKP Program with a total amount of Rp. 1.475 billion.
The Minister of Manpower also stated that his party was redefining the concept of Pancasila Industrial Relations, so that it was in accordance with the conditions of relations in the Industrial 4.0 era.
Its characteristics are still upholding the noble values of deliberation and consensus, as well as the principles of kinship and mutual cooperation for the sake of creating industrial relations that are harmonious, dynamic and just.
"I hope for support from all parties, especially workers/workers and entrepreneurs in this drafting process, so that the resulting conception can be optimal in creating harmonious industrial relations and supporting the welfare and productivity of workers and companies," he said.
In a series of May Day celebrations this year, the Ministry of Manpower held a number of activities in the form of a Futsal Competition between Provincial Manpower Offices to compete for the Menaker Cup, delivery of basic food packages to workers/laborers in 34 provinces, to submitting JKP claims to representatives of laid-off workers around Surabaya.
