Police Investigate Cyclist Cases In Kuningan, South Jakarta, Asked To Report Victims
JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya has traced the viral video confession of a cyclist named Galih who claimed to have been hijacked while cycling in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta. The police asked the victim to report.
"We continue to investigate (investigate), we are. Hopefully the victim will report immediately (so that) we ask for his information, ”said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus to reporters, Sunday, October 11.
Yusri emphasized that the ranks of the Polda Metro Jaya have continued to take preventive measures by implementing routine patrols to vulnerable places. The police hope that the community as well as cyclists will be careful on the roads.
The police reminded people not to issue valuables in a quiet area to anticipate criminals.
"An appeal to cyclists, to be more careful in taking care of yourself. Do not provoke criminals, if you take out your cellphone look for a really safe place," he said.
The story of begging in Kuningan, South Jakarta was conveyed by Galih in the TikTok video upload belonging to @muhamamdpasha.
"I was hijacked. He rode a motorbike together. Immediately close me from the right. The left hand that was piggybacked immediately embraced me," Galih said as quoted by VOI, Sunday, October 11.
"He said, you shut up or I stabbed you. He stuck the knife to me," he said.
In just seconds, the perpetrator then took Galih's cellphone. Not long after, they fled to escape. According to Galih, he asked local residents for help. However, the road conditions at that time were very quiet.
According to Galih's confession, the two robbers used a gray motorbike. However, these vehicles do not use number plates.
"The motorbike is gray but doesn't use a number plate," he said.
