133 Central Lombok Prison Prisoners Get Eid Remission, Coincidentally, The Prison Is Also Full

JAKARTA - Class II B Praya State Detention Center, Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) explained that there were 133 inmates (prisoners) in that place who received remission for the Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijri.

"The total number of prisoners who received remission according to the proposal was 133 people," said the Head of the Class II B Praya Rutan in Central Lombok, Monday, May 2, quoted from Antara.

The amount of remission they get varies from 15 days as many as 46 people, one month 78 people, one month fifteen days as many as eight people, and two months as many as one person, from a total of 277 inmates at the Praya Rutan.

The prisoners proposed for remission are prisoners who have served a minimum period of six months since being found guilty. In addition, those who have behaved well during their detention period and in accordance with applicable regulations.

"They are well-behaved," he said.

Inmates who are proposed for remission are those who are involved in criminal cases of theft and drug abuse, while convicts in corruption cases cannot be proposed to get remission, because they have not paid the prison term fine that has been decided by the court.

"No corruption cases have been proposed," he said.

The condition of the Class II B Praya Detention Center is currently overcapacity. The number of prisoners is 277 people while the capacity is 96 people.

He hoped that the central government would increase the capacity of the Praya Prison.

"We have 'over' (excess) capacity," he said.
