Accompanied By Kaesang, Jokowi And Mrs. Iriana Gather At The Yogyakarta Palace To Meet Sri Sultan

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo visited the Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Palace, Yogyakarta, Monday 2 May.

The President, who was also accompanied by his youngest son Kaesang Pangarep, arrived at Keben Keraton at around 09.00 WIB and was greeted by three daughters of the King of the Yogyakarta Palace, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, namely Gusti Kanjeng Ratu (GKR) Mangkubumi, GKR Condrokirono, and GKR Hayu.

On that occasion, the President wore a batik shirt wrapped in black trousers, while Ibu Iriana wore a white robe.

About 30 minutes later, the President said goodbye to the Governor of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X and GKR Mangkubumi at the Keben Keraton.

"Why this year's Eid I am in Yogyakarta, of course the first time we visited was to gather and arrange a happy holiday, sorry to be born and inner heart to Mr. Sultan, Ngarsa Dalem and the Queen Mother (GKR Hemas) and family," the President said to media crew, quoted from Antara.

The President expressed his gratitude because the agenda for gathering with the Sultan, including the implementation of Eid prayers at the Agung Building, went smoothly.

"The Eid prayers at Gedung Agung went well, everything went smoothly and thank God we were all able to carry out Eid," he said. The former Surakarta Mayor also made sure that Eid 1443 Hijri celebrations in all provinces in Indonesia went well.

"This morning we monitored (the Eid celebrations) in all cities, all provinces were also good," he said.

Meanwhile, Sultan Hamengku Buwono X said that in the friendship agenda, he and President Jokowi did not mention economic or political issues.

"There are no important things to discuss about politics, the economy or not. We are friendly," said the Sultan, who is also the Governor of DIY.
