The Indonesian Ambassador To Portugal Rudy Alfonso Meets The Mayor Of Porto, This Is What He Was Discussed
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ambassador to Lisbon, Rudy Alfonso visited the city of Porto, which is the second largest city in Portugal, April 13. During this visit, Rudy Alfonso met with the Mayor of Porto at the Porto City Hall office.
On that occasion, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Luciano da Silva and the Political PF of the Indonesian Embassy in Lisbon, Ajeng Widianty were also present to accompany the Indonesian Ambassador, Rudy Alfonso.
The city of Porto is known for its Port Wine and home to the famous football club, FC Porto.
During the meeting, apart from introducing the Indonesian Ambassador to Lisbon (courtesy call), the two officials exchanged views on post-COVID-19 recovery, Portugal's preparations to host the UN Ocean Conference on 27 June -1 July 2022, the situation in Ukraine and tourism.
The Mayor of Porto considers that Indonesia-Portugal bilateral relations are increasing. Both believe that there is still great opportunity for efforts to increase cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and investment. Ambassador Rudy Alfonso said that based on the database of the Indonesian Embassy in Lisbon, there are more than 300 Indonesian citizens who live in the city of Porto. Given the large number of Indonesian citizens, finally an Indonesian citizen in the city of Porto decided to open an outlet that specifically sells Indonesian products.
Indonesia and Portugal have the same passion in sports, especially football. The Indonesian Ambassador said that a delegation from Indonesia from one of the football clubs would visit the Porto FC headquarters to explore strategic cooperation in the football field.
