Sunday, May 1st, Padang Naqshbandiyah Congregation Performs Eid Prayer 1 Shawwal
JAKARTA - The government has not officially determined this year's Eid because it will only hold an Isbat Session on Sunday afternoon. However, about 100 followers of the Naqshabandiyah Congregation in Surau Baitul Makmur, Pasar Baru, Pauh District, Padang have performed the Eid prayer 1443 Hijriah on Sunday, May 1.
This distinction is a beautiful tradition. Even the implementation of the Eid prayer at Surau Baitul Makmur took place solemnly and solemnly starting with reading the takbir lafaz by the entire congregation.
After the Naqshbandiyah congregational prayer, they continued to recite takbir and read the prayer together for about 30 minutes. After that, it was continued with the reading of the Eid al-Fitr sermon by the leadership of the Naqshabandiyah Congregation of Surau Baitul Makmur.
The sermon was read in Arabic which was preceded by the call to prayer by one of the congregation. When reading the sermon, the preacher stands holding a wooden stick and is dressed all in white and wearing a scarf while holding a book which is the material for the sermon.
Most of the followers of the congregation are dominated by elderly men and women. According to the spokesperson for the Naqshbandiyah Congregation at Surau Baitul Makmur, Alfitman 1 Shawwal 1443 Hijriah falls on Sunday, May 1, 2022.
He said that his party had carried out fasting for 30 days starting on Friday, April 1, 2022, so that today coincides with Shawwal 1, 1423 Hijri. For the method of determining the beginning of the month, he uses two methods, namely reckoning munjib and rukyatul hilal.
"This is based on the calendar, then a test is carried out with the previous month whether it has entered the new month by making observations," he said, as quoted by Antara.
He said that in Padang there are dozens of mosques and prayer rooms which are the center of worship for the Naqshbandiyah Congregation. The mosques and prayer rooms are spread out in Pauh and Lubuk Kilangan sub-districts.
After performing the prayers, the Naqshbandiyah congregation shook hands and apologized, followed by eating together.
Previously, the Ministry of Religion would hold an isbat (determination) session on 1 Syawal 1443 Hijriah/2022 AD on Sunday, May 1 2022, after monitoring (rukyatul) the new moon at 99 points spread across all provinces in Indonesia.
"The Rukyatul hilal will be carried out by the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion and the Regency/Municipal Ministry of Religion, in collaboration with the Religious Courts and Islamic Organizations and other agencies," said Director General of Islamic Community Guidance at the Ministry of Religion, Kamaruddin Amin.
He explained that the ISBAT session considered the initial information based on the results of astronomical calculations (reckoning) and the results of field confirmation through the monitoring mechanism or rukyatul hilal.
In reckoning, all systems agree that the ijtima before Shawwal falls on Sunday, May 1, 2022, or coincides with the 29th of Ramadan 1443 H. While the beginning of Shawwal 1443 H is waiting for the results of the rukyatul hilal.
"On Rukyat Day, 29 Ramadan 1443 H, the height of the new moon in all parts of Indonesia is above the horizon and above the new criteria of MABIMS (Minister of Religion Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore), which is above 3 degrees," said Kamaruddin.
