Update On COVID-19 As Of October 10: New Cases Increase By 4,294

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has released data on developments in handling COVID-19. A total of 42,668 specimens were examined with the results of 4,294 new positive cases.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 328,952 people," quoted from data from the Ministry of Health, Saturday, October 10.

Meanwhile, the number of cases recovered increased by 3,814, so the total was 251,481 people recovering from COVID-19. Meanwhile, the number of cases died increased by 88 to become 11,765 people.

Then, for the provinces with the most additional positive cases in DKI Jakarta. Based on data, 1,259 people in the capital have tested positive for COVID-19. So that the total residents who have been infected have become 85,574 people.

Other provinces with a high number of additional positive cases include Central Java and East Java. There were an additional 410 and 310 cases, respectively.

On the other hand, the province with the most recovered cases is also occupied by DKI Jakarta with 1,282 cases. Then, West Java with 378 cases and East Java with 305 cases.

There are 7 provinces that reported additional cases under 10. Among them, West Sulawesi, North Kalimantan, and Gorontalo.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 3,726,476. In detail, a total of 3,663,100 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 63,376 specimens using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.4 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases was 151,652 people. Currently, 500 districts / cities out of 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
