JAKARTA - Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate said she was touched when the Anfield Stadium public shouted her name in the first leg of the Champions League semifinal against Villarreal. Even though he was unconscious, he said this was the moment of his dream come true.
Quoted from Liverpool's official website, Ibrahima Konate was not aware of the moment when her name echoed at Anfield. He only found out when he was about to answer questions in a special interview broadcast on Liverpool's official website, Friday night.
"No! Really? You have to show it to me!" Konate said excitedly when asked about it.
“Hearing it and knowing it from you, I was honestly a little embarrassed! I wasn't aware but knew it, like a dream come true. That Anfield chants your name, it's a dream come true," he continued at the beginning of the moment.
After being mentioned, Konate then asked his interviewer to show a recording of Anfield chanting his name and vowed to hear it in more detail.
"I don't want to shed tears on the pitch, but this is definitely something big," Konate continued.
On their social media accounts, Liverpool also shared a short video when the Anfield public shouted Ibrahima Konate's name in the stands. The moment is known to occur when the game lasted 78 minutes.
