Minister Sandiaga And Jokowi's Grandson Celebrate Solo Dancing On World Dance Day
JAKARTA - The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno and the grandson of President Joko Widodo, Jan Ethes Srinarendra, participated in the 2022 Menari Solo event.
At the closing of Solo Dancing at the Surakarta City Hall Courtyard, Friday, Sandiaga Uno, Mayor of Surakarta Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Adipati Mangkunegara X, and the Crown Prince of the Surakarta Hadiningrat Kasunanan Palace KGPH Puruboyo followed the procession first from the Royal Heritage Hotel.
Arriving at the Surakarta City Hall, dozens of dancers performed the story "Banjaran Parikesit" with the play "Parikesit Jumeneng Noto". The dance tells the story of birth, adolescence, the search for knowledge, and Parikesit's success in gaining knowledge.
The carnival of the Parikesit figures was also held from one event location to another. In addition to the Surakarta City Hall courtyard, four other locations are used for the Solo Menari event, namely the main lobby of the Solo Square mall, the official residence of the Mayor of Surakarta Loji Gandrung, the Ngarsopuro Antique Market area, and the parking area of McDonald's Slamet Riyadi.
In his remarks, Sandiaga appreciated the Surakarta City Government in commemorating World Dance Day which falls on April 29.
"Hopefully this organization can promote Surakarta towards the preservation of cultural development," he said.
In addition, he said the activity was also a form of appreciation for artists.
"We need a strategy of innovation, adaptation, and collaboration. We need to revive the Indonesian economy by opening up the widest possible employment opportunities," he said.
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, the COVID-19 pandemic has had a tremendous impact on the Indonesian nation.
"We have struggled for two years, under President Joko Widodo we are able to control the pandemic, but we must not be careless. All people must continue to implement health protocols," he said.
