Central Java Regional Police Says One Way Implementation On Toll Roads Is Running Smoothly, Urai Team Is Still On Alert
SEMARANG - The Central Java Police carried out monitoring of the homecoming flow and the implementation of one way through a helicopter led by the Head of the Operations Bureau, Kombes Pol Firly RS.
In this activity, Karo Ops was accompanied by Director of Traffic Kombes Pol Agus Suryonugroho, Commander of the Mobile Brigade Unit Kombes Yophie and Head of Humas Kombes Pol M Iqbal Alqudusy.
Dirlantas Kombes Agus explained, based on the results of monitoring and evaluation, the implementation of the one-way on toll roads during the Eid homecoming in 2022 went quite smoothly. The flow of vehicles is quite controlled and there is no slowdown in vehicle speed or a significant surge in flow.
"Traffic flow during one way is quite controlled. There is no slowdown or significant spike in vehicle flow. Likewise for the non-Pantura Toll Road. There is no significant increase in vehicle volume," Agus said in a written statement received, Friday, April 29.
The same condition, he continued, also occurred in the flow of vehicles towards Jakarta. Based on observations, there was no significant increase in the number of vehicles. Traffic flow still looks smooth.
He said the current condition which was classified as smooth was influenced by several factors.
"Several influencing factors include the free homecoming program from the central government, the number of residents who choose to go home using other modes of transportation such as trains or planes as well as access to alternative routes for going home in a number of areas.
"Moreover, there are several choices of routes. For example, those from West Java and its surroundings can go through the southern route, then those from Pejagan Brebes can go through Ajibarang, also enter the south. So that in the north coast (vehicle flows) do not pile up," added the Traffic Director.
This condition makes Dirlantas quite optimistic that the security for going home will run smoothly as expected. Because based on initial predictions, there will be a buildup of vehicle traffic from April 28 to May 1, 2022.
Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations Kombes Pol. M Iqbal Alqudusy explained that the Central Java Police had prepared a team to break down along the homecoming route, both on toll and non-toll roads.
"Personnel have been deployed from Pantura to the south-south route. For this reason, people should not hesitate to coordinate with officers if they face problems on the road when traveling back and forth," he said.
Furthermore, Kabidhumas asked the public to pay attention to their health condition and not to force themselves to continue the journey if their body condition is not fit.
"The National Police also appeals to toll road users to be orderly and not to use the toll road shoulder to rest. This is very dangerous because it can lead to accidents and cause a slowdown in the flow of vehicles," he explained.
Furthermore, the Head of Humas asked the public to use their rest time at toll road rest areas wisely.
"Use enough time. A maximum of half an hour, because there are so many vehicle queues. If it's too long it will result in a buildup of queues outside the rest area. For that, use rest time wisely and efficiently," said Kabidhumas.
