CIANJUR - The price of beef at the Cianjur traditional market, West Java, has crept up from Rp. 140 thousand to Rp. 160 thousand per kilogram, the increase is predicted to continue until D+2 Eid.

Head of the Cianjur Industry and Trade UMKM Cooperative Service (Diskoperindag), Tohari Sastra in Cianjur Friday, April 29, said that his party continues to monitor and monitor prices every day before the holiday, in order to anticipate prices not soaring.

"We continue to monitor price increases so they don't soar high, entering the D-3 of Eid, a number of prices for basic necessities and meat are creeping up. Meat is currently being sold for IDR 160 per kilogram from IDR 140 thousand per kilogram, the increase also occurred in chicken meat," said Tohari Sastra , citing Antara, Friday, April 29.

Tohari also explained that for chicken meat, which had dropped after fasting, it rose again to Rp. 42,000 per kilogram from Rp. 35 thousand per kilogram. Meanwhile, food prices began to creep up with an average increase of IDR 2,000 to IDR 35,000 per kilogram.

However, his party predicts that the price increase will not soar high and will occur up to two days after the holiday, the price will go back down, although not immediately to normal prices.

"We hope that the estimated highest price of meat will not soar to Rp180 per kilogram," he said.

The Head of Sub-Division of UPTD Pasar Ciranjang, Iwan, said the price of basic necessities, especially meat, has increased since the 7th day of Eid, where the level of usage before Eid has increased and is expected to touch the figure of Rp. 180 thousand per kilogram one day before Eid.

"It is estimated that beef will reach IDR 180 thousand per kilogram and chicken meat at IDR 55 thousand per kilogram. The increase will not soar because it will have an impact on sales," he said.

Meanwhile, a number of traders in traditional markets in Cianjur, began to experience an increase in sales since the last two days, where sales per day reached 100 kilograms and is expected to continue to increase until one day before Idul Fitri even though the price per kilogram is IDR 160,000.

"Three days before Eid, the price climbs up and is estimated to reach Rp. 180 thousand per kilogram, while for chicken meat it is estimated to reach Rp. 55 thousand per kilogram.
