KKB Attacks TGPF, Guard Team Had Weapon Contact
JAKARTA - The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) attacked the Joint Fact-Finding Team (TGPF) led by Benny Mamoto. The attack occurred when the TGPF team was on their way home after looking for information in the Hitadipta District.
Papua Police Public Relations Head Kombes AM Kamal said the attack by the KKB occurred when the TGPF team was on their way to Sugapa District, Intan Jaya Regency.
"The Joint Fact-Finding Team (TGPF) returned from the scene of the murder of pastor Yeremia Zanambani in Hitadipta District to seek information. On the way back, Sugapa District was attacked by KKB," Kamal told VOI, Saturday, October 10.
The attack, said Kamal, took place when TGPF was passing through Kampung Mbomogoh, Sugapa District, Intan Jaya Regency. As a result of the attack, two people from TGFP were shot.
"There was a shooting contact between the KKB and the TGPF guard team," he said.
Previously it was reported that Bambang Purwoko, who is a lecturer at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) and Sertu Faisal Akbar, were shot by an armed criminal group (KKB) in Hipadita District, Intan Jaya. The shooting began with an ambush when the team headed to Sugapa District.
As a result of the attack, Bambang suffered gunshot wounds to the left ankle and left wrist. His condition is currently in a conscious state.
Meanwhile, Sertu Faisal Akbar suffered a gunshot wound to the waist and was conscious.
