Anies Discusses The Continuation Of PSBB, Worried About The Increase In COVID-19 Cases Due To Demonstrations

JAKARTA - The Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan will discuss the continuation of the implementation of the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) policy. The Jakarta PSBB ends on Sunday, 11 October.

"At 11 we have an announcement about this matter. Later (it will be announced) after that. It remains to finalize the communication material," Anies told reporters, Saturday, October 10.

The intended announcement discusses everything about the results of the current PSBB implementation. The DKI Provincial Government is considering the next steps in efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

"Later, when we deliver an announcement regarding the status, we will show the data. About the effect of the PSBB for the past four weeks. Later we will show you what steps are going forward," said Anies.

According to Anies, his party highlighted the possibility of increasing positive cases due to demonstrations. This condition has also been conveyed to the central government.

"In fact, we are very seriously concerned about the potential spike in cases due to demonstrations that have taken place in various regions, including Jakarta," he said.

Meanwhile, based on data from the Ministry of Health as of Friday, October 9, the number of positive cases increased by 4,094. Thus, the total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 324,658 people.

Meanwhile, for cured cases, it increased by 3,607, bringing the total to 247,667 people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 97 people and a total of 11,677 people.
