After The National Police Free Homecoming, National Police Chief: Help The Community And Reduce The Road Burden

JAKARTA - The National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said the number of free homecoming activities had a very good impact. Because, it can lighten the burden of the road and help the community.

The statement was made when releasing the departure of 220 buses with 11,300 passengers going home for free by the 2022 Police at the East Parking of Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, April 29.

"The goal is to first help the community and also reduce the burden on the homecoming route because we are trying to reduce the number of people who mainly use private vehicles, private cars or motorbikes," said Sigit.

The free homecoming activity can help the burden of the road because in Lebaran 2022 the public's interest is very high to return to their hometown. The reason is, the last two years people have been banned from going home because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Because we predict this year's increase after two years of not going home," he said.

On the other hand, the four-star general also said that the National Police ranks continue to try to implement traffic engineering such as one way and contraflow to break down vehicle density. So, people can safely and comfortably return to their hometowns.

"Our engineering efforts continue to evaluate so that we can unravel the congestion properly," said Sigit.
