The Son-in-Law Of Former BTN Managing Director Maryono Becomes A Corruption Suspect, Immediately Detained
JAKARTA - Widi Kusuma Purwanto, the son-in-law of the former President Director of the State Savings Bank (BTN), H Maryono, has been named a suspect in the gratification case.
Head of the Attorney General's Office of Legal Information, Hari Setiyono, said Purwanto was suspected of having played a role in receiving gratuities from the two corporations through his accounts.
Apart from Purwanto, the Commissioner of PT Titanium Property, Ichsan Hasan, was also named a suspect in the alleged receipt of gratuities related to the provision of credit facilities and credit disbursements from BTN to PT Pelangi Putera Mandiri and PT Titanium Property.
Purwanto is suspected of violating Article 12 letter a or Article 12 letter b or Article 5 paragraph (2) in conjunction with paragraph (1) letter a or letter b or Article 11 of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code. Meanwhile, Hasan is suspected of having violated article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or letter b or article 13 of the Corruption Eradication Law.
The two suspects were immediately detained at the Salemba Detention Center, South Jakarta District Prosecutor's Office and the Attorney General's Office Branch to facilitate the investigation process.
"To facilitate the process of resolving the case and taking into account the objective and subjective elements, the two suspects were detained in a state detention center for a period of 20 days from October 9, 2020 to October 28, 2020," Hari said as quoted by Antara, Saturday, October 10.
Hari said that all parties related to providing credit facilities to PT Pelangi Putera Mandiri and PT Titanium Property and giving money to Maryono through his son-in-law would be examined.
Maryono and the President Director of PT Pelangi Putera Mandiri, Yunan Anwar, have been named as suspects for alleged corruption in the receipt of gratuities to the BTN directors.
The Attorney General's Office found that PT Pelangi Putera Mandiri employees once sent funds to Purwanto with a total of Rp. 2.257 billion before receiving a credit facility from BTN Samarinda Branch of Rp. 117 billion in 2014 which is now bad.
Furthermore, for PT Titanium Property, BTN Jakarta Harmoni Branch disbursed a loan of Rp160 billion to finance the construction of Titanium Square Apartments in 2013.
Regarding the credit facility, PT Titanium Property sent a total of IDR 870 million to Maryono's son-in-law with details of IDR 500 million on May 22, 2014, IDR 250 million on June 16, 2014 and IDR 120 million on September 17, 2014.
