Supplying Sugar And Cooking Oil To Eastern Indonesia Via The Sea Toll Road, ID Food Collaborates With The Ministry Of Transportation
JAKARTA - Food BUMN Holding ID Food and PTPN Group sent supplies of sugar and bulk cooking oil for the first time using the sea toll facility from Belawan to Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara.
The supply delivery is a collaboration between the National Food Agency with the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of SOEs.
President Director of PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (Persero)/ID Food Holding, Frans Marganda Tambunan, said that the initial shipment via the sea toll access ID Food sent a supply of 800 tons of sugar and 300 tons of bulk cooking oil.
"In the distribution mechanism, ID FOOD Group has collaborated with local distributors in Kupang NTT, so that after the cargo arrives in Kupang NTT, ID FOOD with partners distributes to market traders, part of the distribution of sugar and other bulk cooking oil," he said in an official statement, quoted Friday, April 29.
Frans said ID FOOD Group has also coordinated with the local government and local market traders associations who will sell these commodities directly to consumers.
Furthermore, Frans said the distribution of cooking oil and sugar to a number of areas in Kupang NTT also collaborated with other sector BUMNs.
"Such as PT Pos Indonesia for tracking container shipments via trucks to the dispensing location, and also PT Pelindo as a port operator," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of the National Food Agency (NFA) Arief Prasetyo Adi said this step was an effort to provide food and to reduce food logistics costs to Eastern Indonesia.
"The distribution of bulk cooking oil and sugar by optimizing the marine highway facility is a solution for the availability and stabilization of food prices, especially in certain areas such as Eastern Indonesia, where generally there are still obstacles in food logistics," he said.
Furthermore, according to Arief, logistics costs are high and have an impact on price increases for food products or commodities in certain areas.
"Port to Port, Port to Door, Door to Door, so the food distribution channel through this sea highway is from the port to the port, after that from the port it is sent to warehouses, then distributed to distributors and distributed to market traders," he said.
According to Arief, with this synergy, his party can realize the convenience of food logistics.
"Moreover, cooking oil and sugar are currently a concern for the government and the public," he said. The sea highway is effective for food distribution
